If truth be told, most of us have in actual fact been educated to believe that life on the whole is stressful. In order to enable us to deal with stress in an effective manner, it is first necessary to understand that life itself is NOT naturally stressful. It has been learned, by thousands of people, to speak in front of groups with very little or no stress at all. In the first instance many of these people were terrified of doing this.

Many people experience panic, with shaking knees, trembling voices, and their thoughts becoming a mass of jumble just at the thought of speaking in public. However, this fear has been eliminated by many people. It is important to remember that you are no more or no less than any of them. If others can do it with confidence, then why can’t you? All that you need is the correct guiding principles, along with the correct understanding and the correct plan of action, to be able to speak in public comfortably and with confidence.

Many of us have seen public speakers and thought “There’s no way I could do that. I am just not that smart, witty, entertaining, calm, polished - or whatever.” Well, let me tell you that you do not need to be fantastic or perfect in order to succeed. Public speaking is not about being brilliant. Mistakes can be made. Your tongue can become tied, or you could even forget entire parts of your speech and still give a successful speech.

Everything depends upon your, and your audiences, definition of success. Having the understanding that your audience does NOT expect perfection is one of the biggest secrets to successful public speaking. Giving your audience something of value is the essence of public speaking. There really is nothing more to it. If your audience walks away feeling better about themselves, then they will consider that their time with you was worthwhile.

When speakers convey, people remember very little about the facts or information that the speaker has outlined. Therefore, it is imperative not to overload your audience with unnecessary facts and details. Simple information will suffice in giving them what they want so that they can walk away with one or two key points that are significant to them.

This may sound absurd, but you will succeed as a public speaker if you simply address your audience with a little knowledge and remember to be yourself. It really is as simple as that. Of course, a little practice is required. However, the best way to succeed is to enter the arena time and time again and you will quickly have all of the confidence that you need.

April 15th can be the most stressful day of the year for many Americans. The date when federal taxes are due can strike fear into the hearts of the most serious taxpayers. Writing that yearly check to Uncle Sam can be quite distressing, especially if we find we owe more than we thought we would.

What can be especially troubling is that the stress can stay with us, year in and year out. However, for many people, the stress begins long before the filing deadline. It may occur as early as December when the tax forms first arrive in the mail. On the other hand, it may happen when our W-2 form comes across our desk at work. It may happen when we hear about tax season on television. Even getting our yearly interest statement from our bank might be enough to put us over the edge.

We may know some people who seem completely relaxed when tax time comes around. It seems that they have everything in order, and they have little with to be concerned. For such people, tax day seems to be a virtually stress-free experience. We will find them whistling through the hallways at work’ while we are hunched over our calculator, wondering whether we can pay our tax bill.

We need to realize that we can handle the stress of tax season without going ballistic. However, this means that we must be pro-active when it comes to handling our taxes. A little bit of planning can go a long way to reducing our taxes and our stress level.

To begin with, it could help us immeasurably if we seek the services of a financial planner. He or she can help us to take control of our finances, which can reduce our stress level considerably. In addition, the financial planner can help us to employ certain strategies, which will enable us to reduce our tax bill.

Next, we have to seriously consider whether it will do us any good to do our taxes ourselves. While figuring out our own tax bill can give us a feeling of control, it can also increase our stress level tremendously. Therefore, we might seriously consider hiring a tax accountant to handle the stress of our taxes. While such a move will not eliminate our stress, it can seriously reduce it.

Keeping folders of all the documents we need for filing our taxes can also lessen our stress. If we keep the folders current throughout the year, we will not be in a mad rush at tax time to find the papers we need to file our return. We might consider color-coding the folders for easy reference. Also, keep the folders in a central location.

While a filing cabinet might be the best solution, we might also consider a hope chest, an end table, or a desk drawer. In addition, be sure to keep all our records for at least three years in case a question arises about our return later on.

Another strategy for reducing our stress is putting an end to procrastination. While it might be tempting to wait until the last minute to file our taxes, it only increases our stress level. If we file our taxes long before the due date, we can rest easy when April 15th comes around. We might be amazed at how much easier it is to deal with tax season when we have done some advanced planning. If we find ourselves facing a large tax bill, chances are we will feel stress, no matter what time we file. Therefore, we might consider opening a savings account specifically earmarked for taxes. This way, we can save for tax day throughout the year.

Another option is to increase our withholding on our weekly paycheck so that we do not have such a huge bill to pay at the end of the tax year. There is no reason to become overly stressed over taxes. They are a natural part of American life, the means by which the government is able to function. If we take a few pro-active steps, we can significantly reduce tax-related stress. It may be hard at first to break old habits. However, once we do, we might be amazed at how relaxed we feel when April 15th comes around.

You need to take control over your stress in order to channel your energy into performing as you would like to and not as a result of an unidentified stress that has a foothold in your life, and for that you need a daily control of your stress, you need a diary.

Some of your diary’s notes could be:

* Alarm clock didn’t go off and the kids arrived late to school
* Traffic was worst than ever
* You arrived late to work
* Your boss was with a bad mood
* You picked up kids from school in a worst mood than at the morning
* Mother in law came to visit you

Your stress diary can help you understand what causes your stress, how you react to stress and if your reactions are appropriate and useful

And to best analyze your stress you can also include the following information into your diary

* How stressed out do you feel
* What symptoms do you feel?
* How did you handle the stress?

Analizing the diary

If you use your dairy daily, in three to four weeks you should be able to start to see your patterns. You will be able to identify your stressors (those things that provoke you stress), and you will most probably notice that some of your stressors will be repeated on a regular basis.

So the question is: What can you do about the stressors that come and come?

If one of your stressors is a person, you can decide not to see that person again (and if you can’t, at least not so often)

But although the animals have only two options: fight or flight, we as human beings can also re-define situations, we can change the way we react.

In example: if you can’t stand your mother in law, instead of becoming crazy when she comes to your house, you can try different answers as:

* try to understand that’s an unavoidable problem. You like to see your mother and your couple likes to se his/her mother, and that’s natural
* Or try to avoid the encounter not being there
* Or talk to your couple about it and ask that you don’t want that visit too often
* Or invite a friend of yours the same day, and let your couple take care of his/her mother, while you chat with your friend

Your goal should be to diminish your life’s stress learning how to deal with stressful situations, and this can be done responding in a more proactive and positive manner

Every day has its own stress load

Very often we carry over yesterday’s concerns into our present day concerns, or tomorrow concerns into today concerns.

Every day has its own stress load it’s up to you not to multiply it. Try to live in present.

In your past, you probably should have said or done some things that you didn’t. But the past is dead and you can’t do anything about it, forget it, live it behind your life, don’t carry it behind your back.

Relaxing tip 1: Start living mindful of the now. What’s happening in your life right now?

If you have unresolved problems, you can deal with them when the proper time comes, but for now you need to live this very moment.

Take a deep breath and while you exhale let your past problems go with it. Just relax and enjoy the feeling of being at peace within you.

If you feel it helps you, find a retired place in your house, close your eyes, breathe deeply a couple of times and get in contact with your here and now in peace

Relaxing tip 2: Practice this act of quiet calm not only when you feel stressed, practice it every day.

Take a couple of minutes to improve your life. Go back to a quiet place in your mind, close your eyes, and breathe deeply a couple of times until your reach your inner place of calm.

Relaxing tip 3: Every day, spend some time doing something that really pleases you.

It’s your life and happiness what we are talking about, and nobody but you are responsible for that.

Do not expect that someone else makes you feel happy and good, do it yourself!

And don’t forget your body needs. You need to eat, drink and rest properly, because if you don’t you are only setting yourself up for additional stress.

Relaxing tip 4: Isolate your stressors!

After you identify your stressors, choose one particular stressor and work on it until you regain control. Then you can go for the next one.

Don’t try to deal with all of your stressors at the same time or you might feel overwhelmed

Slowly, as you start resolving that situations you will start to feel better knowing that a brighter tomorrow is waiting for you.

Relaxing tip 5: Don’t fight alone!

If you decide to fight alone against your stressors, God will just watch you while you try it, but if you ask for His help He will help you.

Don’t give up faith! You might think that something is impossible to solve, that you just can’t solve it. And maybe you are right because we all have limitations, but God has no limitations, and He can decide to bring an unexpected solution to your life if you pray enough for it.

If you give up faith, you are already defeated before starting!

Go to your quiet place, close your eyes, take three deep breaths and relax. Then start imagining how you would like things to be…

Stay a moment feeling the joy of the accomplishment. And then let it go with the faith that what you want is coming into your life.

You don’t have to think about how you will resolve each of your problems; you only have to imagine that they are already resolved and enjoy the moment.

If you develop the ability to relax, meditate and imagine your problems resolved you will bust stress, and take control over your life.

The are a lot of things in life that will try to keep the average person down. We all are victims of obstacles that we must overcome in life. I was a victim for a long time until I overcame one of the worst things that can happen ever happen to a person, money problems. It was to the point where I used to be so broke that I could not even afford to get out of debt. A lot of people in the world will not tell you their struggles and what they have been through but if we do not display our struggles, how can someone else benefit? How can we better someone else’s life?

Difficult situations not only disciplined me, but forced me to sacrifice. You have to change something in your life in order to see a change. To me, its sad that most people do not even have enough time to spend with their kids (let alone themselves). For a good example, if you work 40 plus hours a week (every week)and you only have enough money to pay your bills, what are you living off of? Most people would say, “well, I’ll just have to do without until I get paid again”. Yea, and once you get paid again, its just going to another bill. Since paying bills is a never ending cycle, You will have to temporarily break this barrier. You have to take a “step outside the box” while taking prudent risks to have great things come to you. A lot of people do not like taking these kinds of risks but for change to take place, you have no other choice.

We live our lives with choices and the choices that we make today will always affect how we live tommorrow. The thing a person has to do to over come this “bondage effect” is do one of two things: invest and/or save. From my understanding of once being broke, I did not have any money to save. I did not even have any money to invest at the time. But I am sure that you heard the old saying, “where there is a will, there is a way”!

So what I did was, I was forced to start my own business. I had let my bills that could wait temporarily pile up and saved just enough money where I could invest in the internet. I have been doing this internet marketing for many, many, many years now. It was not easy at all but I took a step out on faith and worked extremely hard to get to where I am now. I used to work 2-3 full time jobs at one time in my early days of building my company. You have to always think about the long term outcome in any given situation that you go through.

We all come from different walks of life and with many different, difficult circumstances. But always remember that, the road may seem hard now but if you do not create some kind of a change in your life, its only going to get worse.

Why is it some people can succeed in such a period of time, while others work for decades and never even touch on that kind of results? What do they do that is so different from what you do?

* You Need A Mentor!
We can learn a lot from Olympic athletes. Here we have the true successful. Out of all the people on the Earth, we have a select few who had a vision, and are living that vision. Inspiring all, they are good examples to consider.

Every Olympic athlete has 2 important things in there lives. That is a mentor and or coach, and a team. These are a powerful combination and when applied in your life, you will prosper, and your business will prosper.

* The Life Coach
For many people who are achieving big results, we find a life coach somewhere influencing and guiding them to achieve those results. A life coach or mentor is crucial in this process of shortcutting to success, because they know the shortcuts. As Bob Proctor says, learners inherit the Earth, while the learned find themselves beautifully equipped to deal with a world that no longer exists.

Its true, if you think of for example computers, technology, IT, you will find that if you stop learning, within a few short years, possibly even months or weeks, you will find your skill set is of no use! Many industries are going through major shuffling work, as the learners indeed do inherit the good jobs, while those that keep there existing skill set find that they are outdated like old machinery!

Imagine an athlete without a coach, so why would people do that in the business world. After all a business and success is like a marathon, just without the finish line! A life coach can help you in many ways. Because they have access to so many different successful people, they learn constantly what can make you achieve success in the shortest time possible.

* More Ways To Be Mentored And Life Coached
At this point, you may be thinking that you need to pay tens of thousands of dollars to enlist the help of a life coach. This is not necessarily true. Yes, the best life coaches in the world may ask for huge amounts of money to coach you. However, you can also find good coaches who don’t need such a large investment.

There is also a major way to master the information you need to succeed, and that is through tape products, and books, and seminars. These combined make practical ways of success possible. The books can be read in your spare time. The tape products can be used with your car to make what Brian Tracy terms a University on Wheels!

The books are a low investment model, which allows you to constantly learn what is essential to take your business and your life to the next level. The tapes on occasion needing much more of an investment, however still within most budgets - allow you to learn while you doing other things. And the seminars can be a practical way of imbedding the information to allow you to move forward.

We all know that public speaking is one of the most feared endeavors for many, many people especially when we are not called on to do it very often. There are many ways to combat public speaking nerves but for some reason the very people who are the most scared do the least to get over this fear. There is one main thing we have to remember when we have this type of fear. It does not allow us to think straight because all or most of our brain activity moves to the rear of the brain where out ‘fight or flight’ reactions belong. There is minimal activity left in the frontal parts of the brain where our fine thinking skills are located. And what do you think will happen if we do not have access to fine cognitive processes, yes, our speaking will deteriorate even more.

The answer is first to realize that this happens physiologically for a reason and the next step is to discover how to put this activity back where it belongs, in the frontal or neocortex as it is known, so a clearer thinking mind is available to you when you need it.

Lets look at a few ways to do this then. Doing it in stages or smaller chunks will make this much easier. Firstly I really recommend that you do some slow deep breathing for a while, at least ten minutes, getting control of your breathing is a crucial first step to taking back an empowered mental state. Make a conscious effort to go somewhere quiet and breathe in to a count of seven using your diaphragm or belly (not chest breathing) and breathe out to a count of eleven seconds, After ten minutes you will find yourself calming down tremendously. It is the slow exhalation that lets your autonomic nervous system know it can calm down now and will begin to take your body away from a fight or flight response.

Well done, the next step is to start rubbing your hands together for a few minutes and then suck your cheeks in hard whilst continuing to breathe. this may sound strange but the reason for this is that it moves activity back to your frontal brain area. Then you can look straight ahead and let your eyes move gently outwards so you become aware of the peripherals of the room you are in. this feels a little different at first but try it again, just move each eye outwards to observe the periphery of the place you are in. When you are in peripheral vision there is no ‘internal voice’ in your head saying things like ‘i’m nervous’. You will be aware that there are no pictures in your mind either (of the large audience for example) that could further unnerve you.

The peripheral vision technique actually quietens your mind right down to a still point. Practice all the above before you actually do the speaking, at least a few weeks before and they will really help enormously.

It is an important premise of cognitive psychology that the we get more of whatever we focus on. In fact where we place our awareness has an effect on our lives in a big way. If we choose to focus on pessimistic thinking or negative aspects of our lives then we will only increase these feelings and compound them. Vice versa, we can make a choice to focus on what is good about ourselves and our lives and that way positive aspects of ourselves will become enhanced and then stronger and stronger as a result.

Indeed in the last few years much has been written about thew so called ‘laws of attraction’ with the bestselling book ‘The Secret’ being extremely popular. However, the book only reinforces the principles of increased awareness that happens when we change our focus.

For example, when I brought my first car many years ago, a little yellow Renault Five model, i had never seen this particular model or colour before, but of course within half an hour of driving around in it, what do you think I saw, yes, dozens of yellow Renault fives. They had always been there of course but it wsnt until my awareness and focus changed that it was more obvious. In the same way if you change your focus to things that you want to attract more of you will notice those things more and more. There is even a small organ in your brain that is responsible for this. It is known as the reticular activating system which in turn is part of your hypothalamus and is responsible for changes in focus and new awarenesses.

As a practicing counselor and therapist I often use this approach with clients when I ask them “where are things going well in your life” even if just in a small way somewhere. Most people can find small areas that are fine. Then you can build on this by changing their awareness to how they know that this is a good area. Ask them what is different about this area and then expand on that one thing more and more. this may sound and seem simplistic but it forms the basis of a particular technique known as solution focused counseling or coaching and gets its effectiveness from concentrating on only what is going well and identifying why. Peoples awareness can move quite quickly to finding solutions instead of focusing on problems areas of their lives.

In fact some research from the last fifteen years has shown that solution focused coaching was responsible for seventy-five percent improvements with a large group of clients who suffered from mild to moderate depression. that is an amazing finding as traditional cognitive-behavior therapy usually used in this type of treatment has only been about forty percent effective.
It does seem then that where we place our focus and awareness is vitally important to emotional health and well-being and can strongly affect life outcomes and goals.

If we can take one thing from all of this it is this. Be aware of what you do want more of. Do not place your awareness on what you don’t want as you may get more of it. think the opposite and place more awareness on that as a goal. This will aid you in moving towards outcomes instead of dwelling on the problem areas in your life.

Nightmares - the kind that wake us with our heart beating wildly and our whole body tensed and ready to do battle with the baddies or run away - are often experienced as very frightening and worrisome.

Many want to forget their bad dreams as soon as possible. They don’t realize these could be missed opportunities for enrichment in their lives. Analyzing dreams is a potent method not only for managing stress but for our personal development.

We may ask ourselves:

Did I see or hear something bad that is coming back to haunt me?

Is my dream warning me about someone who is out to get me?

Did I eat something spoiled for dinner?

Or could there be something more that I am not getting here?

The truth is, any or all of these and many more possibilities may be true. Dreams are imagery and storyline salads that our deeper self puts up on the screen of our awareness during the night. When we sleep, our conscious mind is resting. This allows our unconscious mind the space to chew on and digest whatever issues we have swallowed but have not yet sorted out during the day.

The ingredients in this salad may include
- Residues of experiences from the day
- Memory associations with those experiences that
are sitting in the same file drawer of brain
- Feelings similar to those experiences
- resonating like taut guitar strings to a similar
note from recent events
- Sounds our unconscious mind notes while we sleep
- Worries and fears about the future

There are countless books for interpreting dreams. These may give us some general ideas about our own nightmares, but only we ourselves can say what our particular dreams mean. This is because we have concocted this imagery salad out of the unique ingredients of our individual, personal lives.

Example

From ‘Kate,’ a 35 year-old, single parent MBA:

“I once woke in a sweat, having dreamed I was driving a car with a steering wheel I could no longer turn.”

The first step in befriending our nightmares is to write down every detail and nuance we can recall, omitting no pixel of pictures, no nuance of feeling, or soundbyte of words, or intonations exchanged by the characters on that inner stage.

“As I started to write, more details emerged. Not only was I approaching a curve, but there was a big truck approaching in the opposite lane. I kept fighting the wheel that wouldn’t turn, terrified as my car crossed the yellow line just in front of the truck. I wanted to scream but no words would come out of my mouth. I woke just before impact.”

Next, we can scan our memories for what might have been a leftover from recent days’ experiences that was dropped into the salad.

“I felt I was being driven by my financial needs to continue on a career path that I was unhappy to pursue. The atmosphere at the factory was terrible because I was being asked to do jobs that weren’t mine, due to several recent staff resignations. I was forced to stay late, compromising my duties as a mom to two young girls. I was having a hard time finding another job I wanted, and worried I could not hold up (might crash) under the stresses.”

Examining patterns from the past that might be similar, Kate realized:

“My father was forced into bankruptcy, due to a poor choice in business partners, when I was in my late teens. This severely disrupted our family and delayed my plans for going to university until I could pay my own way. I felt totally out of control when this happened.”

Sorting out the meanings of the dream, one can explore alternatives that one might have overlooked in the dream and why these blind spots might exist.

“I came to see I had struggled with the steering wheel but never thought of stepping on the brakes. The dream actually helped me understand that when stressed, I often felt panicky and out of control - when actually there often were choices I could make that would be under my control.”

The nightmare can then suggest new ways we might approach our life situations.

“I came to see that I could take a stand for myself and put on the brakes at work. I was lucky that the division manager was an understanding single mom herself and she supported me when I requested shifts in my duties.”

Kate also found ways she could deal with the heavy feelings of hurt, anger and resentment she carried from her father’s bankruptcy.

In short, if we don’t run away from our nightmares or push them back into the fog of unknowing in our unconscious mind, they can be a rich feast for understanding ourselves better and for discovering creative ways to improve our lives.

Are you the type of person who looks after everyone else and puts your needs at the bottom of the list? How many times have you said “Oh, I don’t have time to do that for myself, I have too many other things to do?

Recently I overheard a conversation between a manager and an employee regarding a professional development event. The employee wanted to attend something which related to self care.

The manager said that the workshop needed to pertain to the job. Initially I thought “that makes sense”. Then I realized that taking care of yourself relates to any and every job. If we don’t take care of ourselves, who will?

One of my clients often spoke about how she always felt rushed. She agreed to make a list of all her commitments and then realized the reason she felt so overwhelmed. She worked full-time, was married and had 3 kids who were involved in various extracurricular activities.

She was quite involved with her church, was a class parent and was involved in a fundraising project for a local charity. Her parents were getting older and had some health issues which she often had to attend too.

She recognized that there weren’t enough hours in the day to do everything and that she rarely had time for herself or her relationship with her husband. She began to evaluate her priorities, practiced saying “no” to requests and learned how to delegate.

She became more energized and clearer about what she wanted and recognized that it was time to start valuing herself.

If you have ever traveled by plane you have heard the spiel about putting the oxygen mask on yourself before you put it on your child. Often it is instinctive to put yourself last. Let’s examine ways to put the oxygen mask on you first.

Make a list of all the commitments and responsibilities you have. Consider what you can eliminate and delegate. How much time would that free up for you? If you are having trouble with this, you might need to ask for help in order to make some changes.

The next step involves you considering yourself and what your needs are. What gives you pleasure and energy? What are the things in your life which excite you? Many of my clients have been out of sync with themselves so long time that this question initially stumps them.

What do you do for fun? How often do you incorporate fun into your life? If you are having difficulty identifying things, think about what you did as a child that you enjoyed and relished.

The last step is to take Action! Do 1 or 2 of the things that you have identified. Notice how it makes you feel both physically and emotionally. What impact is it having on your life?

Here are the guidelines for you to begin to place greater value on yourself:

Clarify - Write down a list of all things you’d like to do or want to try. Don’t eliminate anything, no judgments, just write for 5 minutes.

Action - Peruse the list and choose two things that you want to take action on. Schedule yourself time to do it within the next week. Ideally do it in the next two days. Just do it!

Create supportive environments - Our intentions are often good, but we tend to slide back into the old habit of putting yourself last. What or who could support you in taking action? Tell at least two people your intentions so that they can help you move forward.

Have fun!!

Meditation has become more popular and more acceptable than ever before these days but despite more exposure in the media there still seem to be some mystery to some. In fact many people ask me, when they find out I meditate regularly, why do you do it?. So I decided to make a list of the many benefits of meditation.

Firstly the main reason I meditate is because it gives my body such deep and profound rest in a way that sleep alone never can. The complete and total peace of mind that comes from being alone for half an hour with no noise is in itself very restful but if you go one step further and learn to switch off your mind, and with a little practice this is not difficult to achieve, you will take your mind down to a still point that is very absent from normal everyday living where minimal activity takes place in the mind. Very restful indeed.

Secondly, if a person wants to develop their spirituality to a point where they can begin to feel a sense of ‘oneness’ than nothing can accomplish this aim more thoroughly than meditation. The myth that it takes years of training to reach this understanding is simply not true and it is possible to feel this sense of ‘being connected’ after a few months of meditating. To feel this interconnectedness with everything sounds far-fetched but I assure you I have felt it on quite a few occasions during my own regular practice.

Intuition can sharply increase after some time practicing meditation. Intuition plays a large part in many peoples lives. Often it plays a much more significant part than we realize. Following our ‘gut’ instinct is still a primary way of making decisions for a lot of us even though we like to think decisions are all made logically. Meditation will increase these connections with your sub-conscious minds and thus allow you to make better decisions based on more genuine feeling.

Meditation also gives us what has been termed a s steady intellect. this is where you maintain an even keel with your moods and it becomes easier to come back to a steady mental state even if you occasionally get thrown off course by something during your day. I found also , and there is some research to support it, that my memory got better. Supposedly this is because daily practice increases informational flow between your brains two hemispheres and this is a n added bonus for many.

The physical benefits of meditation are also worth noting. The biggest benefit being the stabilization and balance of blood pressure. In fact many studies done with one specific type of meditation, transcendental meditation, show that it may be the best non-drug treatment for high blood pressure known.

So there you are, quite a lot of benefits for one simple technique that only takes as little as twenty minutes a day.

Positive thinking is a method utilized by many individuals the world over for lots of different reasons. It is a way of utilizing the mind to allow positive thoughts, dreams, ideas, goals and other notions to drift through your mind, allowing for a greater comprehension and acceptance of these things. By utilizing positive thinking, you are opening yourself up to experiencing good and beneficial results in your life. You will see to witness the good in situations rather of focusing on negative aspects, you will not dwell on things that have brought you unhappiness - instead you will see it as a learning curve.

Not everybody are convinced in the power of positive thinking and they scoff at the idea of the subconscious mind playing a role in our goal setting. They do not believe that positive thinking can have an impact on their life whatsoever and that anything they get in life is all due to fate - it was meant to happen that way. This is a perfectly reasonable attitude to possess but it does seem somewhat narrow minded to those who practice positive thinking.

The subconscious mind plays a very vital part in the process of positive thinking, it is utilized to allow thoughts to enter a person’s consciousness and grow in a beneficial way. The law of attraction is also used in positive thinking, this is the theory that if a person thinks about obtaining something in his life for long enough it will happen. Just thinking about something however is not the way in which the law of attraction works - for instance, you might dream about owning a mansion but that is as far as it goes.

The law of attraction works on a various level, when utilized in connection with positive thinking it is argued that a person will take subtle steps to realizing what they desire. They might not be fully aware that they are practicing this, and this is where the subconscious mind comes into play. A person may think about retraining for a change of career, they may begin to engage in goal setting and begin to behave in a different way. All of these things are small changes and they may consume time but they are all working towards the one goal.

Goal setting is another essential aspect of positive thinking, it lets a person to make a decision on something they would like to gain or achieve in life and then set out to do so. For instance, a person may desire to overcome a difficult situation such as a divorce and they may find that by practicing positive thinking they can turn the situation around. Instead of dwelling on the break up of a marriage, a person who practices positive thinking would think of it as an opportunity to do things they had never done before.

Positive thinking is what you make it and if you are able to allow your subconscious mind to help you with goal setting you will be on your way to obtaining whatever you desire in life.

Feeling overwhelmed, overworked, overloaded and stressed are is all too commonplace nowadays. The problem is that these feelings are actually compromising our effectiveness, productivity and efficiency.

We get things done but at a cost to both the quality and quantity of work we produce and at a cost to our physical, mental and emotional health.

A proverb from the Dominican Republic says that,

“It’s not the load but the overload that kills.”

Some individuals become so overwhelmed that they are forced to give up their jobs. Others choose to take this route to a calmer and healthier lifestyle.

In reality, you shouldn’t have to choose between your health and your job. It’s question of getting the right perspective on life and work and finding balance.

So here are some expert stress management tips to help you restore balance in your life.

1. Set Goals
Without goals we drift aimlessly through life. When your goals are clear they act as a filter. Anything that is not relevant to your goals you can simply ignore.

This also means though, that the goals you set must be holistic, balanced and in harmony with each other. They must encompass every area of your life, so for example you don’t build a business and sacrifice your health.

2. Eliminate
Cut the clutter. For instance don’t let newspapers, magazines, letters, etc. accumulate. Make it a habit to get rid of things that no longer serve a useful purpose in your life.

Aim to keep at least a section of your work space or desk clear at all times. Clutter will inhibit your thinking and productivity.

3. Turn it Off!
Learn how to switch off to become more switched on. Get comfortable with turning off your email, Blackberry, mobile phone, etc. for hours at a time.

You don’t need to be a constant conduit for information. Periodically closing your personal information highway will free more of your time for focused work and play as well as provide the time for the restoration of your mind and body.

4. Learn How to Say “No”
There are probably many things that you do on a day-to-day basis that perhaps you don’t need to do because you are not the best person for the job. Find that person and delegate that particular task to them.

Also, don’t say “yes” to other people’s requests when you know that it’s not in your best interest, simply because you can’t pluck up the courage to say “no”.

5. Plan
Take time to plan your day-to-day activities as well as the various projects that you are involved with. Plans are not rigidly set in stone. They need to be flexible because when you set about planning you want to predict where any problems might arise.

Then you make contingency plans for each of these problems. In this way, if something does go wrong, you will be prepared and can smoothly make the transition to an alternative plan.

6. Focus
Decide what is really urgent and important and focus on these tasks first and foremost. Set aside dedicated blocks of time to focus on just one task at a time. Multi-tasking has been proven to be inefficient.

If something relates to a bigger project then break that project down into discrete, bite-sized chunks that can be completed within short timescales. In this way, whenever you work on that project you will make considerable forward momentum.

7. Ask for help
Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Too many people suffer in silence.

“Asking for help is a way of emptying our overfull life.”

If you are an employee speak to your boss to explore possible ways of restructuring your workload. If you’re the boss then look at introducing new systems and ways of automating aspects of your work to take the pressure off your shoulders.

As adults, we reach a point in our lives when we open up to change. A whole new awareness allows us to accept information that will help us to unlock our self improvement power. Until that change occurs, something we need to improve our lives could be staring us in the face, however, we will not see it; even if it is right under our noses. Usually, the key factor that triggers the unlocking of our self improvement power, is when our lives have turned for the worst.

We tend to learn our lessons when we experience pain. We finally open up and see the warning signs when things get rough for us. When is it that we realize we need to change our diet? Well, when none of the jeans and shirts we normally wear, fit us. When do we stop eating candies and chocolates, and going to bed without brushing our teeth? Well, when our teeth start to decay. When do we realize that we need to stop smoking? Unfortunately, it is usually when our lungs have become unhealthy. When do we pray and frantically ask for help? When we realize that we may be on our last breath on this earth.

For some reason, the key time most of us learn to unlock our self improvement power is when our world around us is crashing down and falling apart. We think and feel stress in this because it is not easy for us to change our habit-paths we have set for ourselves. However, change can become even more painful when we choose to ignore it.

Change happens, like it or not. At one point or another in our lives, we all experience turning points… and because of this, each one of us will eventually unlock our self improvement power. Not because the world tells us to. Not because our friends are nagging us to do it. Once set in our ways, we become so stubborn to change that permanent self changes don’t happen because we are reading books, or going to classes. Self improvement only happens when we have finally come to a fork in the road that has us realize that improving ourselves is really for our own good.

Happy people do not just accept change, they embrace it wholeheartedly. So do not allow yourself to feel tremendous stress when your life hits self improvement changes on you. Unlocking your power means you are unlocking yourself from the cage of thought your mind sets that says; its just the way I am, I can’t change that. Most people program their minds like computers to think that way. That cage of thought is such a poor excuse for people who fear and resist change.

Self improvement may not be your favorite topic, and you may think you do not need to do any adjusting in your life. But improving on yourself can really happen just by taking a look at your world; your environment from a little bit different a perspective at times. You may find you are enjoying the whole process of your life, instead of counting the days until you are fully improved.

Everyone in this world wants to famous. By everybody I mean you too. Trust me you do not have to spend a penny or kill somebody to become famous. Do not be famous because you want to be, become famous for some good reasons. Do not do something that is harmful to you or others such as jumping from a multistoried building just to get your fifteen minutes of fame. Being famous is all about grabbing the attraction and attention of the media and people for something positive yet spectacular and unique.

In this process some of them snatch a copy of the Guinness Book of World Records. They begin to look in different groups trying to break new records and attain fame. If you are in search of instant fame then reality shows are the best place. However, these reality shows does not work for everybody. The main purpose of being famous is to stand out from others.

Hit upon a category that is free in the Guinness Book of World and try to be the best at it. Or just think of something unique, or the one that you are perfect in and contact the media and show the world how you are best at it. “Michael Jackson” was the first African American to enter the American music industry and introduce hip hop to the world and people still love him for that. And even older incidence like Alexander Graham Bell (March 3, 1847 - August 2, 1922), a scientist who founded Bell Telephone Company. In addition to his work in telecommunications technology, he was also responsible for significant advances in aviation and hydrofoil technology.

You too can be exceedingly different from your own peers and be famous for that. For example, take Mahatma Gandhi. He was very different from other lawyers of his time.

Another common way of being famous is by helping the poor and the needy. Doing this will also help some unfortunate lives. Some celebs and other sports person do this by being a volunteer who raises awareness among people for any important cause.

Fame and money both can be earned by winning a lottery. Of course this depends on your luck.

Be ready to help people at the time of crises like Wesley Autrey who saved a life of a man who fell into the subway tracks of New York. Saving someones life, it may be a human or an animal, can always make you famous.

Ranju Kumar has been encouraging people on becoming famous, and is also giving away people ideas on success, confidence, fame and many more from several years and likes to spread the same to others. Take a peek at the website http://tips-to-becomefamous.com/ and The Fame Is Yours.

This article is mainly about how to control your stress. You will find a wonderful stress relieving technique below to help you manage or even eliminate stress.

One stress reducing method is to use your imagination to induce relaxation. The mind is a powerful tool and can easily induce relaxation. You can start this technique by doing some abdominal breathing for about five minutes to relax and wind down. Now imagine yourself in a comfortable place, maybe a hammock on a tropical beach or something else of the sort.

Now take in your surroundings, feel the warm sunshine on your body and notice how it does not only warm your body but it also warms your insides melting all your troubles away. Now listen to all the sounds around you, the birds, the palm trees waving in the nice tropical breeze, maybe even the waves crashing on the shore.

Now notice all of the colors that you are surrounded by. The brown of the tree trunks, the green of the leaves, the sea green color of the water. Take in all of the smells that come from the things around you. The salty smell of the water, the smell of a warm summer breeze, maybe even the coconut smell of suntan lotion. Use your senses to become one with nature.

Now imagine a really bright light coming down from the bright blue sky. This light is engulfing your entire body, feel the warmth and energy. This bright light is your guardian angel. You see her smiling down upon you with the bright halo on her head and a life force that is easy to absorb.

Submit herself to her completely. You should become one with her and through her become one with the universe. She is talking to you; she wants you to know how much she loves you and that she is there to protect you through anything. You can just feel the energy and vibration from her. A new sense of peace and harmony has come over you.

Now you are completely relaxed and your angel wants to share something with you. She knows that there has been something on your mind lately, a question, she wants to answer it for you. She knows what is in your heart and she fills it with knowing and understanding. Now take a couple of minutes to absorb her message, let it sink in.

Now you should thank your angel for the gift that she has given you. As you see her moving further and further away until all you seen is a faint white light, you can start coming out of your trance. Slowly open your eyes and breathe in the air around you. Wiggle your hands and feet and feel how relaxed you are. This is a great state of mind, enjoy it!

Like everyone else interested in the law of attraction, I’ve done everything from cutting out tons of magazine pictures for dream boards, writing out goals every morning, reciting affirmations whenever I could remember to do so, and on and on.

I’ve seen some great results, especially after working with goals. For instance, one of my goals last year was to finally get some health insurance. With a pre-existing condition (back injury) from some car accidents, the monthly cost of health insurance was outrageous and would eat at least 40% of my monthly income. After setting goals and working on them every day, I found a fantastic health insurance plan that was just $220 a month and covered pre-existing conditions. And the insurance agent said that was impossible!

Other things that happened as a result of goal setting was to buy some land, get a better vehicle, move to a larger home, and take care of some business matters. I’ve definitely been witnessing positive results and will keep working with goals.

That’s the key word, though — ‘working’ — with goals.

The problem is that writing out goals every morning and reciting affirmations turns into a chore after awhile. With all the exercises I was doing, it was taking an hour or two every morning to go through all of the processes. Practicing the law of attraction is supposed to be fun, but this has turned into drudgery. Whether taught in The Secret or any other self improvement course out there, the ‘law of attraction’ is not supposed to be a chore. It’s supposed to be fun and you’re supposed to feel enthusiasm.

What turned this around was an entertaining and easy program called ‘Mind Movies.’ It’s like building a dream board on steroids and far from boring. You receive software and some great NLP techniques. With the software, you use pictures that you would otherwise include on your dream board, but create a movie with them that you can watch on your computer or DVD. Add music that gets you pumped up and in a positive frame of mind, and type in some affirmations that actually have some personal meaning, and you’ve created an incredible tool for attracting the life you desire.

My personal mind movie is so fun for me that it’s not a chore to watch it every morning and night. I am witnessing some things quickly manifest as a result, such as an invitation to be a guest on a local radio show, some solutions to a health problem I’ve had for many years, and … what I’ve really wanted, an increase in time and money!

Everyone’s mind movie will be different because we all want different things, enjoy different music, and are ‘turned on’ by different things. I’ve displayed a portion of my mind movie on my web page, but quite frankly, it may not be interesting to you. The only ones that you’ll get enthused about are the ones that you make because they are based on your wishes, goals and dreams. Our personal wishes are unique. What interests you may not be all that interesting to me, and vice versa. There are a lot of subliminal videos and audiotapes available out there, but the Mind Movie program is one that is specifically tailored to your wants, desires and particular tastes.

Take a chance on creating a mind movie for yourself. You might be amazed with how quickly things happen in your life.

Mind Movies can be easily produced by anyone. Like Urbain and friends, you can create what you desire by having a good time writing your own affirmations and putting them to music and pictures. Learn more at http://www.achieve-your-destiny.com

Those who pray hold a unique place in the world. Discover why to become a person of prayer - a pray-er and experience the power God will bring to your life.

1. Pray-ers are less likely to feel stressed-out. We believe life makes more sense and is easier to cope with because we know God is hearing us and taking care of our best interests.

2. Pray-ers are more likely to be concerned about the moral condition of the nation. We are concerned that the nation keeps moving toward the future knowing that it could go down very quickly.

3. Pray-ers are much more likely to believe that they are making a positive difference in the world. We know that our prayers help people and help change circumstances and situations.

4. Pray-ers are more optimistic about the future. We believe God is in control and we that the future holds marvelous things.

5. Pray-ers are far more likely to believe that the Bible is totally accurate in its principles. We know that God didn’t set things in motion and hope for the best. He sent a guidebook, the Bible, with some rules that help us live our best lives.

6. Pray-ers are substantially more likely to believe that Satan and the Holy Spirit are real figures. We know that there is a real dividing line between good and evil and we know there is warfare in the heavens over us. That’s why we pray.

7. Pray-ers are less likely to believe that Jesus Christ sinned while He was on earth. We know Jesus is sinless and is God’s son - just as he declared. We know Jesus came here exclusively to deliver us from our evil.

8. Pray-ers know that ultimately, their protection comes from God. Our fear is diminished having been protected and seen others protected from real evil, even we didn’t even know evil was around us.

9. Pray-ers know that peace is attainable in spite of circumstances not because of circumstances. We know there are pray-ers everywhere on this earth in some very very difficult circumstances that have the peace that passes all understanding.

10. Pray-ers are more confident that God has is an overall plan for this world and that they are part of it. We know that we are here for a short time and then will go on to something much better. We know God is the reason we are here and that we are here to fulfill his plan.

There’s a lot of debate and theories about what it is stress and what it does to us. We all have an idea of what’s stress because we all experience it from time to time (some persons more often than they would like to experience it).

Hans Selye one of the fathers of stress research teached us that stress is not necessarily something bad, that it’s part of the natural experience of living and that even the animals have stress. And Selye stated that the biochemical effects of stress would be experienced whether the situation that originated was a positive or a negative one.

But although all of us suffer stress, there’s not an unique response to stressful events, because stress is greatly influenced by what we think about the stressing situation.

The first thing that we need to learn about stress is that’s a natural response of our body and that stress does not need to be all bad. Sometimes we need a bit of stress in our daily lives as a challenge that can help us reach higher heights.

So the big secret is that we do not need to lean how not to have stress, but we need to learn how to channel that energy into something beneficial and positive.

IDENTIFYING THE CAUSES OF STRESS

Walter Cannon studies in 1932 is the father of the “fight or flight” response that says that when an living being perceives something as as threat, it reacts instantly by releasing hormones that help him survive either fighting either running away from the threat.

What do that hormones do in our bodies?

They increase the heart rate and blood pressure, delivering more oxygen and blood sugar to major muscles, which allow us for greater speed and strength. We can also trigger the same response when we face something unexpected or frustrating, although we might not notice the changes in our bodies.

But all these changes in our bodies that spring into survival mode have also a negative consequence, because we become excitable, anxious, jumpy and irritable, and this may difficult us to carry out controlled skills, and turn us more accident-prone and less able to make good decisions. And on the long term it can also affect our health.

So we need to be able to control our fight or flight response, and for that we need to identify stress in our life.

Many people think that because they are not aware of how much stress they are carrying it can’t be so serious to have it. But regardless of how much harm can do you, if you learn to identify it, you can learn how to deal more effectively with stress.

An important matter to consider in the realm of self assessment and evaluating ones self worth is the subject of success. In today’s world the flashy and often glitzy portrayal of what many consider to be success can leave an individual feeling frustrated and overwhelmed to say the least. The demands associated with attempting to measure up to the worlds view of success can easily deplete the mental and emotional resources of a perfectly capable and balanced person.

All too often our own imperfections, inadequacies and flaws can cause us to put an undue amount of pressure on ourselves giving way to feelings of hopelessness in the pursuit of happiness. It is at this point our built in saving mechanism can kick in should we choose to use it. What is this saving or coping mechanism that can get us out of the mental or emotional rut we may occasionally find ourselves in?

Reflecting on Past Positive Experiences

The ability to reflect on past positive experiences that may have resulted in a small victory can have a profound effect on what our perception of success is all about. By looking into our past successes we can find the will to continue to fight against the unnecessary and often unrealistic pressures that the world can cause us to put on ourselves.

Think back to an experience when you accomplished something that may have seemed to be impossible at the time. Was it a test at school? Overcoming peer pressure? Were you able to achieve in a particular area in which you were fearful of failing? By recalling or reflecting on these past moments of triumph, the ability to succeed at whatever field of endeavor you are actively pursuing today can eventually become your reality.

The process that we may have to go through to rewrite our thinking will not be as simple as it sounds, however with enough effort and determination our reality can reflect a completely different picture than what the worlds’ perceptions create.

We have all been designed with the ability to succeed. The struggle to bring this fact into fruition comes from allowing ourselves to be rewired as it were to the dictates of the environment and its perceptions around us. You and I have what it takes to go from underdog to overachiever. Use the tools of perception and reflection that may be lying dormant within, to propel you to new levels of achievement and as a result see the outworking of your future success.

Every air conditioner, oven, heater etc has a built in thermostat to keep the temperature within a constant range for optimum performance. Our brain has a very similar system called the psycho-cybernetic mechanism, and its job is to keep us operating within a certain behavioural range.

If we think of the air conditioner, the thermostat inside has a range of temperatures that it uses as its guide or reference when keeping the room at a desired temperature. When the temperature in the room hits the upper boundary of that range, the air conditioner kicks in and begins cooling the air. When the temperature hits the lower boundary, the air conditioner turns off. This cycle goes on for as long as the air conditioner is on.

In humans, we have at the sub conscious level a self image of ourselves and it is the self image that dictates our decision making process so that our results in life match our self image.

The psycho-cybernetic mechanism is the system that senses when you are trying to do something that is not in line with your self image. So if your self image at the sub conscious level is one of someone being overweight, the decisions you make everyday will support this.

So like the thermostat in the air conditioner that uses a range of temperatures from which to act, your psycho-cybernetic mechanism uses your self image as its range and acts when you move outside that self image. This can be an action or even the thought of doing an action. And when it acts, it sends messages to the Amygdala to send out chemicals to make you feel fear, doubt or anxiety, depending on the situation, which in turn will cause you to stop the action or the thought, or to even make excuses as to why you can’t proceed.

Have you ever been in the situation where you were asked to make cold calls (or just think of something that you dread to do)? If your self-image is of someone that could not possibly make cold calls because you fear the rejection, your psycho-cybernetic mechanism senses that you are accommodating a thought that is outside your comfort zone, or your range of behaviours that you are comfortable with doing, and responds accordingly. You feel fear and doubt (thanks to the Amygdala), and you make excuses as to why you can’t make cold calls.

The people you see around you or in the news that are drenched in success never got there from being comfortable, they embrace the feelings of fear and doubt because they know it means they are moving our of their comfort zone. They are using their psycho-cybernetic mechanism to their advantage, all the while re-adjusting its parameters so that it sets wider and far more reaching boundaries to reduce limiting beliefs and allow more achievements.

The psycho-cybernetic mechanism and the Amygdala are your guides to success. When they are acting, it means you are uncomfortable, and success can only be achieved by pushing out of our comfort zone.

What causes a panic attack? There could be many different underlying reasons for a panic attack, but the most common reason is simply high stress or anxiety. Understanding the underlying reasons of what causes a panic attack is part learning how to overcome a panic attack.

The fact is anxiety is a common part of life and everyone experiences it on a daily basis. How we manage the anxiety is the key to a healthier lifestyle.

I watched a TV program that was about a study on people that lived longer lives compared to most other people. What they would do is go around and interview people that were over a hundred years old, and they would find one thing in common with all of them.

These people simply knew how to manage stress and anxiety. They would not let things in life effect them as much as other people. Of course there were other factors such as the right kind of diet and exercise, but the mental factors involving stress and anxiety were strikingly clear in their similarities.

So what exactly is anxiety? Anxiety is defined as the state of apprehension or fear resulting from the anticipation of a real or imagined threat, or situation. This may bring the question to mind, Why then do people suffer from panic attacks when there is no real or immediate danger present?

The reality is the symptoms of panic attacks may be triggered by underlying stress in your subconscious mind. People often experience high anxiety and in their mind they may not even be aware they are experiencing the anxiety, but the body may be well aware of higher levels of stress.

Another reason people may experience panic attacks is known as the fight/flight response. When confronted with a danger the body uses anxiety to spring us into action. It’s our body’s natural way of protecting itself when danger arises.

You may notice when you experience a panic attack that these type of emotions or responses occur. It also may seem counterproductive because people think the anxiety causes great harm in the form of a panic attack then actually your bodies attempt to save you from danger.

Of course the fight/flight theory is dependent upon receiving a panic attack when a real danger becomes a reality and does not explain why people receive panics in low stress conditions.

Now that you have a general idea of what the wrong ways are to stop a panic attack you are well on your way to overcoming panic attacks and anxiety disorder in your own life. There are many e-books online that use certain techniques to help you overcome future attacks.

Alex Miller researches and writes articles based around anxiety and panic attacks.

Sometimes we are not able to escape from our stressors (i.e. if your boss stresses you), but what we all can do is to take a few moments to sit comfortably and melt your stress through mind control.

Mind control can be as powerful as the strongest anti stress medicine that you can find anywhere and it’s a natural way of solving our problems.

Using mind control you can draw on any number of real or imaginary experiences. You can recall a time when you where at peace with blissful surroundings or you can just imagine it and the result will be the same.

Through mind control you can bring yourself into an intensely relaxing situation, because when you picture a pleasant and relaxing scene in your conscious mind, your subconscious mind makes your body react as if you where really there.

And on the other hand if you create an unpleasant and stressful situation, your stress levels will increase as if that where really happening to you.

HOW TO CONTROL YOUR MIND

Begin by sitting in a comfortable chair at a place where you will not be disturbed. Tell your family not to interrupt you while you are practicing your relaxation exercises.

Your brain waves trend to imitate the frequency of the sounds that you hear, so as the Alpha level is the level of the relaxation, you should listen to an Alpha Sound to help your body response.

Locate yourself comfortably in your favorite posture; take a deep breath, and when exhaling feel how a relaxation sensation descends trough all your body.

Relax!

Take another deep breath, and when exhaling feel as a curtain that lowers in your mind and it takes you to a deep sensation of mental peace.

Relax!

Take another deep breath and when exhaling it feel how all your being enters into a more deep, and healthier mental level.

Count from twenty-five to one and as you descend, you will feel entering at a deeper mental level.

Breathe slowly and deeply.

Imagine now that you are amid a dreamt landscape.

Pay attention to the trees and flowers that surround you…

Notice the wild flowers that you find at your step.

Feel the cracking of the floor under your weight…

Perceive how you receive in your face a warm breeze… that it caresses you with the soft perfume of the spring…

Enjoy the total relax for a minute and then concentrate on what you want.

Imagine yourself in possession of your most valuable dream…

Imagine yourself being, making or having, what you want more…

And try to live this desire with the happiness of the achievement…

Represent yourself mentally with all possible detail, how it will change your life with this achievement.

Make your representation so vivid that you can feel the change’s emotion, because there is not bigger force than the emotion.

Every time that you enter at these special mental levels, you will achieve benefic effects for your body and for your mind.

To recapture your usual conscious levels again, count slowly from one to five… giving you time for a leisurely and natural exit…

Practice this exercise each time that you feel stressed (it will work even better if you practice it regularly every day) and all your stress, worries and concerns will be zapped from your body.

Mind control allows you to substitute your actual experience with what you like and want, and during your imagery exercise your stress levels are lessen because you give your body and mind a break and recapture your control over yourself.

Remember that stress and physical relaxation can’t co-exist, and that you will improve the control of your stress each time that you practice the relaxation exercise.

If you can’t practice the whole exercise, close your eyes and take a number of very deep and purposeful breaths, relaxing your body further with each breath out. The stay a little while within your inner peace and that will be an excellent and urgent help too.

In wise words, it is said “Without a vision, people perish”. All too often we are told to make goals, goal set, but the truth is, without the right sequence, you will not succeed. To succeed, you need a vision. In this article, I will help you with the numbers!

We are often told by master personal development life coaches, that to succeed you need to set goals. This has been me at times as well, however, to realize the full picture, will require knowing the sequence, and this for the most part is what people miss out: the vision.

What is a vision?
A vision is like how you are living now, but you predominantly imagined you would live, 5 years ago! What you think about, you become. And this happens from your thoughts, turning into your words, turning into your character, your actions, and ultimately your results. Setting goals for 1 specific area of your life is not a balanced life. This is why those that have persisted to achieve 1 major goal have lived a life with no happiness. This is not to say that setting one goal will make you unhappy, but that if we think more broadly, then we may create a life of bliss. The kind of life that others wonder why you live an extraordinary life.

How to create a vision?
Creating a vision is a simple process, and is one that is mocked by many people - that is to dream. To create a vision, you need to listen to your hearts desires. What do you want to experience in life? What do you want for health, wealth, relationships, and professional life? Many people suggest not dreaming, however, many people waste good time, by daydreaming. Daydreaming, and creating a vision, you intend to live are totally different things!

You will learn by the numbers, I will teach you! Remembering that line from a film called Full Metal Jacket; it took time for me to understand. But, the truth is there, you can’t live a vision without having one, and you can’t effectively goal set or live that life, until they have been done in that exact order.

- First you have vision
- Then you set goals
- Then you act, act, act
- Then you begin to live that life more and more, till you find you are at your vision

You will always need to be one step ahead. Retirement is usually a sign of the ending of a great story. People who live longer or have made it through trying times, that many died in, have always had a vision. So, creating a vision, working towards it, achieving it, and setting a new vision is part of the process of growing from one plateau to the next.

You can be a success and achieve all you set to achieve, when it involves a vision. Looking at your vision often is like looking at a map, and knowing where you are, and where you want to go to.

I forgive myself for everything I held against myself by remembering and reminding myself over and over of all the hurt I carried all these years.

I am free, no longer imprisoned in a world of my subjective troubling memories. As I forgive myself, I penetrate the layers of the unconscious and impress it with a new blueprint — that of acceptance, beauty, abundance and love.

I plant new seeds for the continual growth of my mental powers. I forgive myself and everyone who has played a part in my movie of life whereby I cast them as an extra, yes, I cast them…and they replicated roles unworthy of their true character.

Armed with forgiveness, I choose to stop re-enacting unhappy scenes from the past. I forgive before I fall asleep, and I forgive before my eyes look on this new day. And as I forgive I remove my spiritual blinders and open the windows of my soul to all the riches of life.

I have made a decision. I choose to re-imagine, re-frame, rewrite, and re-edit my life rather than recast and rerun the old negative TV series and radio broadcasts on the screen of my mind.

Yes, today I go cold turkey. I am discovering that the All-Originating Love is the only creative power in all world-systems.

I am realizing that all of my erroneous thoughts and actions to which my feelings gave rise never separated me from Divine Love. I now make the first move towards reconciliation and am brought into conscious realization of that reciprocal communication with the Source of Life.

Infinite Love is the essence of my true being. I feel renewed, uplifted, and released.

Each and every time I focus my thoughts on worthwhile goals, I feel a river of peace surge through me. I have confidence in the Healer Within to restore a perfect balance in all and through all.

As a result of this shift in awareness, I walk away from old conversations about lack and avoid what for me alone is negative to my heart and mind. I am willingly surrendering all sense of worthlessness, powerlessness, and helplessness.

Yes, I am giving up all memories that are negative or hurtful for something positive, abundantly delightful, and healthful. That would be me.

How good it feels to move beyond past memories, childhood mistakes and confusion. I have my dream-seeds in hand.

I choose to replant, fertilize, and nurture the love within myself. I choose wholeness of mind. I choose happiness.

I am a child of I AM, an “heir according to the promise.” I live in an imaginal universe capable of using the laws of the unseen side of things.

As I look around at the world it becomes a testimony to the stability of the foundation on which my dream is based.

Today I renew my relationship with all of life.
I begin a fresh, positive dialogue with those I meet.
I rise up in imagination. I give thanks for my triumphant way of living. I walk in the direction of the fulfillment of my dream.

I am so grateful and happy that I choose to practice the art of self-forgiveness and know how to use my imagination lovingly on behalf of myself and others!

Never close a door on a dream — your dreams are calling you!

Room 101 in George Orwell’s novel “nineteen eight-four” was the room which contained the “worst thing in the world” and is the name of a popular TV comedy show where celebrities get to air their pet peeves. You can take the Room 101 concept a step further to boost your energy and reduce stress.

As I watched a recent episode of the program it struck me that more of us should give our lives the Room 101 treatment. Another word for the phrase “pet peeves” is tolerations. Tolerations are things we put up with in our lives. They drain us of our energy and they increase our stress load.

They can be minor things like a squeaky door but each time you hear that door squeak you say to yourself “I must oil those hinges”. And that thought will keep revolving inside your head until you oil those hinges.

Tolerations can also be relatively more serious like a toxic relationship. We can continue a relationship even when we know it is not nurturing us. That person is like an energy vampire.

We don’t feel good when we are around that particular person. In fact, we may find that we are not expressing ourselves as authentically as we would in other more fulfilling relationships.

The thing is you could have a more fulfilling and nurturing relationship, if only you would create room for it.

Tolerations can be dealt with. You’ve just got to be ruthless in dealing with them. First of all, identify your tolerations. One of my coaches once asked me to write down 101 of my tolerations. It was challenging and I didn’t quite get to 101 but I got very close. Once the floodgates open, all those things that have been niggling at your mind rush to the surface.

So my challenge to you is first to write down 101 tolerations. You may get stuck a few times but persevere because this exercise alone is well worth the effort.

You see, even if you simply put this list aside and forget all about it, if you review it after a few months you will be amazed at just how many of those items you are able to cross off. Once you’ve identified your tolerations in this manner your sub-conscious mind gets to work in helping you to eliminate these tolerations.

Your aim is to become a toleration-free zone.

The next step is to deal with your tolerations in a systematic and objective fashion. Another of my mentors gives his tolerations the D treatment. So once you’ve identified your tolerations go over each item and decide whether you are going to:

a) Drop it,
b) Delegate it, or
c) Do it NOW

a) Drop it

For example are you in the habit of saving magazine articles and emails saying I’ll read that later and you never get around to reading them? Then this is an example of an item you should drop.

Let’s face it. Life is short. We’ll never have the time to do all the things we want to do. Therefore, ensure that you have the time to do the things that really matter.

b) Delegate it

Are you one the type of person who thinks that if I don’t do it won’t get done right? Are you the type of person who tries to do everything themselves? If so, get over it. Find ways to automate some of the things you are doing manually, i.e. delegate certain tasks to machines.

Identify what you are really good at doing and what specifically needs to be done by you. Then be diligent in finding individuals and or companies that can handle the rest. You might have to train someone to do certain tasks but, once the training is done, you can comfortably hand over that task.

c) Do it NOW!

There are some tasks that, if you don’t take care of immediately, will have serious and perhaps irreversible consequences. You know what those tasks are and yet you procrastinate in handling those tasks. Why? Fear is often a factor and often they are things you don’t like dealing with.

I don’t need you to think about what will happen if you don’t handle this particular task - you are already there. What I want you to do is to do it anyway. You are going to feel much better as a result because,

1. You have overcome your fear and taken action, and
2. You have regained control over that particular situation.

You will most likely find that dealing with these tasks is not as daunting as you first imagined.

Tolerations clutter our lives and when and where there is clutter energy cannot flow freely. When energy cannot flow freely blockages occur in our system and this results in symptoms of stress, such as headaches, nervous tics, tremors, skin rashes, indigestion, chest pain, fatigue, muscular tension and pain. Does any of this sound familiar?

Then take a no-nonsense approach to tolerations and start the process of eroding them from your life. The more tolerations you are able to remove from your life and the better you become at swiftly dealing with tolerations the more your energy levels and your ability to deal with stress will improve.

I am successful. You can be successful. I can do anything I want to do and anything I can dream of. You can do anything you want to do and anything you dream of. Now that being said, not everyone is cut out to work from home successfully. You can do it just like I do, but you have to want it more each day and you have to stick to it like gum sticks to the bottom of your shoe! Never let go of your dream to be at home and to succeed.

Sometimes getting to success is painful. It requires change at some point. The phrase, “If you do what you have always done, you will get what you have always gotten.” is very true. If you are not successful doing what you are currently doing then change is necessary and that may require some reflection on yourself and you may discover some painful truths. If you are strong enough to handle what comes from looking closely at yourself you will be successful!

Never imagine that you have arrived. You should be constantly changing and growing. What worked for you last year may not work this year, and what works for you today may not even work tomorrow. Be learning and growing daily. If someone asks you what you are currently reading or studying you should be able to share with confidence your latest find.

Habits are very powerful factors in our success. Maybe you procrastinate, or are critical of others. If you have habits that are not helping you toward success it is time to change them! Pick one habit and start with that one. For 30 days, focus on changing that one habit to a habit that will be productive and lead you toward success. You can develop new habits that will launch you toward your goals. You are not stuck just because this is the way you have always done things. If you want new results you need to take new actions.

To be truly successful you will also have to be productive. If you are working from home but spending much of your day surfing the internet or on the phone talking about working rather than working you are not being productive. You may feel like you spent your day working, but unless you are getting results from your actions, those actions are wasted.

This is not meant to be discouraging, but simply to point out that you can be just as successful as anyone else, but you have to be willing to do what they did to get there. So the questions to ask yourself are: “Am I willing to do whatever it takes to be successful, even if it is personally painful?” “Have I done something to better myself today?” “Have I looked carefully at myself and found one habit to work on changing?” “Have I been productive today or have I just been busy?” “If I was my boss would I pay me for today?” If you can honestly say that you are willing to change no matter how painful it is personally, you have done something to educate yourself each day, you have focused on changing one habit into something positive and you have been productive today then you are successful and you will be reaping the results for a long time to come.

Several years back when my kids were creeping up on the teen years and I started hearing more and more excuses for why things were not done I realized that we all tend to make excuses for ourselves. They can be real and legitimate excuses sometimes, but they are all just excuses if we are not doing what must be done to get where we want to go. My main email address starts out with noexcuses. This reminds me every time I send an email that I should be focusing on what is important because excuses just won’t get me there!

Old habits can be very hard to break but if you are serious about being successful you will take the necessary steps to break away from those old habits and make new lasting habits for success. Will you make excuses or will you do what it takes? Join me today in committing to a long and successful journey in working at home and finding success and fulfillment every day. No excuses will do!

Nowadays, it doesn’t take a whole lot to become wealthy. Not even rich for that matter. All you have to do is invest a portion of your income in anything that will appreciate over time. As they say, “inch by inch, anything’s a cinch”. You can get a long term mutual fund set up such as a Roth IRA or something of that nature. You may want to also look into investing in a financial consultant. Just make sure that they are a reputable one that have a long track record of clients that you can get in contact with for a positive background check. Always do your homework when investing your money.

Real Estate has been and will forever be the number one investment a business owner can make, hands down. The disadvantage about real estate though is, it can sometimes be difficult to get into for a business owner that doesn’t know much about it as a beginner. Another disadvantage about real estate is, if your not careful, you can sometimes invest in the wrong thing and not make much profit. The best thing I suggest doing is talk to a reputable realtor in your area because realtors know real estate just like mortgage brokers know money.

There are numerous of ways business owners can invest there money. You have investments like stocks and bonds, mutual funds, real estate, savings, etc. But how do an individual know if they have a positive return on investment? Well, the answer to that question is simple: research. You have to strategically plan before you invest in anything long term. If you own business, you can take some of the cash flow from that and invest. If you don’t have a business of your own, there are literally tons of websites to check out that will help you start your own profitable business.

In order to invest properly, cash flow is key. A lot of times people tend to invest in real estate before having enough cash flow and this will make you “land poor.” Land poor is when you have property that you own but don’t have enough cash flow to support it.

Invest in a small business and turn it into a big business.

There are a lot of small “mom and pop” businesses in the world today that have so much potential in turning there companies into big empires. One of the reasons why there small business isn’t booming like it should is because of a lack of resources. The problem starts where your marketing begins. Sometimes it can be just the simplest things that will not only increase sales but help build your business foundation. The biggest advantage that a big business have over a small business is there “brand name”. There is a lot of competition out here and in order to be the best, you have to be different from the rest. Be creative in your marketing avenues.

Here are some things that can help a small business bloom

One main resource that should never be looked over is the internet.

First get a inexpensive website up. Believe it or not, there are so many companies that do not have a website for there business. Internet companies are not only starting to compete with these big companies but the internet is turning regular everyday people rich.

Another thing is business cards

Business cards can make or break a business. They help brand your business, make you look professional, and simply can help build your reputation. I have never seen a real business that do not have business cards.

Door Panel flyers

A business owner that is dedicated to his business will have some of these. They are good for when you travel or simply just on the go.

In any business, marketing is key. Whether you have a product you sell or service you provide, its not what you sell, its how you sell it.

When we speak of the fabulous relaxation capacity that mind control gives us, the first thing that comes to our mind, is that we will be able to take off, the excesses of nervous tension, the stress; and this is a great benefit.

When at the beginning of the twentieth century it was spoken about stress, it was usual to think of company owners or big executives.

But our accelerated and competitive western way of life made that now when we speak about stress, we not only think in big executives or in company owners, but also in intermediate level bosses, in employees, in workers, in housewives and in primary school children.

I think that everyone that has a small children, will surely have had the opportunity to take a sick children to the doctor, and listen that we shouldn’t worry, that the child is only nervous, and have being given some mild medicine for it.

What did the doctor mean when he told us: stay calm, he’s only nervous?

He wanted to tell us: the boy doesn’t have a stroke, neither an ulcer, arteriosclerosis, or cancer; he is only nervous.

But it is also certain that the same doctor in another opportunity will tell us that, not less than ninety percent of the illnesses the medical science knows are originated by nervous tension excesses, by stress.

I always say that stress is not only the most common illness in our time, but probably the worst of all.

Why is it so? Because suppose that you could measure stress in inches, and that I have stress zero when the meter is located in zero.

In a normal existence the meter ascends very frequently. Let us suppose that it arrives to seven or eight inches high, and in that level, I begin to have headaches, or stomachaches, or pain in my back muscles, or pain in my shoulders muscles, or in the neck, or insomnia.

So let us suppose that when the meter arrives to eight inches we have some of the most frequent manifestations of nervous tension excess.

As you can suppose, I will go to see the doctor so that he gives me a medicine; or I will begin to take gymnastic classes, or
