What is self esteem and is it important for the teacher?
Self esteem is important to give you the confidence to face a class. It is also important to allow you to evaluate the criticism you will get from your tutors. If your self esteem is low you will tend to react defensively while a good self esteem allows you to consider the criticism and improve your work. It is important not to equate self esteem with arrogance, however. Arrogance may paradoxically be a sign of a fragile self-esteem.
